Brookland Group & Partners Limited, an investment fund based in Dubai and Singapore, has completed the first tranche of its investment in Miza Joint Stock Company, a Vietnamese manufacturer of recycled packaging.
The transaction marks the initial stage of a structured equity investment agreement worth up to $5 million.
The investment comes less than a month after FTSE Russell officially upgraded Vietnam’s stock market from frontier to secondary emerging-market status.
Eligible Vietnamese stocks are expected to be gradually included in FTSE’s global emerging-market indices over the coming year. While Vietnam’s listed market remains heavily concentrated in banking, securities and real estate, manufacturers operating under circular-economy models are increasingly attracting international investor interest.
Speaking to Vietnam Economic Times / VnEconomy, Mr. Martin Doan, Chief Executive of Brookland Group & Partners, said the fund’s investment assessment process began with the business itself, focusing on its competitive position, management team and ability to generate sustainable profits.
According to the Vietnam Pulp and Paper Association (VPPA), Vietnam’s paper consumption rose 10.8% in 2025 to an estimated 7.77 million tonnes, exceeding domestic production of approximately 6.34 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, regulations governing recyclable packaging are becoming increasingly stringent. Vietnam’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) requirements officially took effect in May 2026. In export markets, the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) also began applying in August 2026.
These developments are increasing pressure on manufacturers to adopt more sustainable packaging solutions while creating opportunities for businesses positioned to meet evolving environmental requirements and international market demand.
