Authorities of central Da Nang city and Dat Phuong Hoi An JSC on July 14 broke ground on a new social housing project in Con Tien Urban Area, marking another step in the central city's strategy to expand affordable housing and promote sustainable urban development.
With total investment of nearly VND700 billion ($26.6 million), the project will provide 684 apartments, accommodating nearly 2,200 residents.
The project will comprise four seven-storey apartment buildings on a site covering more than 23,935 square meters. Designed with integrated infrastructure and essential public amenities, the development aims to provide quality, affordable housing for workers and other eligible residents.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed by the fourth quarter of 2028.
The project contributes to Vietnam's national program to build at least one million social housing units. Under the government's 2026–2030 plan, Da Nang has been assigned a target of developing nearly 29,000 social housing units during the five-year period. To meet this goal, the city has accelerated implementation from the outset, setting a target of delivering nearly 5,000 social housing units in 2026 alone.
