SJC-branded gold bar prices at major retailers remained around VND138.4 million ($5,262) per tael for buying and VND141.4 million per tael for selling on the morning of October 30, down VND1.3 million per tael, or 0.9%, from the previous session.

A tael is equivalent to 37.5 grams, or roughly 1.2 ounces.

The decline marked the sharpest drop in approximately six weeks, while trading prices fell to their lowest level since late July 2026.

On the global market, gold prices continued to weaken, falling more than 0.5% after a 1.14% decline in the previous session. Prices slipped to around $3,999.1 per ounce.

As a result, SJC gold bars remained approximately VND14.86 million ($565) per tael more expensive than their global equivalent.
