Gold prices in Vietnam fell for a fourth consecutive session on April 23, hitting their lowest level in a month.

Prices of SJC-branded gold bars dropped VND800,000 ($30.4) per tael from the previous day to VND169.2 million ($6,433) per tael for selling and VND166.7 million ($6,338) per tael for buying.

A tael is equivalent to 37.5 grams, or roughly 1.2 ounces.

On the global market, gold prices slipped more than 0.6% to $4,707.5 per ounce. Despite the decline, domestic prices remained significantly higher than international levels, with a gap of about VND18.07 million (approximately $687) per tael.
