A ceremony marking the export of the first shipment of Vietnam’s processed chicken products to the Republic of Korea was held on August 25 at the CPV Food Binh Phuoc poultry farming and export processing complex in Chon Thanh ward in southern Dong Nai city.

Earlier, on April 22, Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs had announced the opening of the South Korean market to processed chicken products from Vietnam. C.P. Vietnam became the first company to meet the requirements to ship Vietnam’s first consignment of processed chicken to the market.

To meet the standards of the demanding Korean market, the company underwent more than five years of preparation and completed an eight-step assessment process by Korean authorities, particularly in animal and plant quarantine, as well as food and pharmaceutical safety.

Following its successful entry into South Korea, C.P. Vietnam’s processed chicken products are now available in eight international markets, including markets with stringent food safety requirements such as Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong (China) and Russia.

The first shipment to South Korea not only demonstrates C.P. Vietnam’s production and processing capabilities but also represents a new step forward for Vietnam’s livestock industry.

Successfully meeting South Korea’s complex technical and sanitary requirements demonstrates the growing ability of Vietnamese agricultural producers to compete in demanding international markets.

The development is also expected to encourage domestic businesses to invest further in deep processing, helping increase the value of Vietnamese agricultural products and expand their presence in global markets.
