Vietnam's domestic trade and consumer services sector maintained strong growth in June, reflecting improving domestic demand and resilient consumer spending, according to the National Statistics Office.
Total retail sales of goods and consumer services revenue reached an estimated VND665.6 trillion ($25.4 billion) in June, up 1.1% from the previous month and 14.8% year-on-year.
For the first six months of 2026, the figure climbed to over VND3.88 quadrillion ($147 billion), up 12.9% year-on-year. Excluding price factors, real growth reached 7.3%, indicating a solid recovery in household consumption and domestic purchasing power.
Retail sales of goods remained the largest contributor, generating more than VND2.94 quadrillion, or 75.6% of the total, an increase of 12.5% from a year earlier.
Accommodation and food services recorded revenue of VND493 trillion, up 15.6%, driven by strong tourism activity in key destinations including Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Hue.
Meanwhile, travel services generated VND49.8 trillion in revenue during the first half of the year, a 15% increase from the same period in 2025, underscoring the continued recovery of Vietnam's tourism industry.
