The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has officially issued a plan to organize groundbreaking ceremonies for a series of key infrastructure projects and works to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the city being honored with the name of President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 – July 2, 2026).
According to the plan, the main groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 8:30am on July 1 at the Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Port area. The event will be broadcast live.
The municipal Department of Construction stated that the large-scale projects slated for commencement have all previously received investment policy approval from the City People's Council. The list includes the Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and the Bach Dang Wharf Public Green Park.

Similarly, Phase 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway is included in the list, with the contract signing expected on June 30.
Regarding connectivity for the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, the Department of Construction approved the interchange with Rung Sac Road on June 15. Another interchange connecting the same expressway with National Highway 50 was approved on March 19.
Furthermore, HCMC plans to start construction on Phase 1 of the Cai Mep Ha General and Container Port. To date, the project has completed its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), which was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on June 25. The feasibility study report was also approved by the Ministry of Construction on June 26, meeting all requirements for the July 1 groundbreaking.
