The southern city is steering toward a low-carbon economy by integrating climate change adaptation and mitigation solutions into its socio-economic development planning.
The plan aims to remove Viet Nam from the list of countries subject to increased monitoring issued by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) – a global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog.
The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has issued an action plan for the banking industry to implement the “Restructuring the system of credit institutions associated with bad debt settlement in the 2021-2025 period” project. The project clearly states the action plan for the banking industry on matters such as handling bad debts, improving credit quality, and boosting the financial capacity and operational efficiency of the Vietnam Asset Management Company (VAMC).
According to the Ministry of Transport’s recently-issued green energy transformation action plan, five modes of transport - road, railway, inland waterway, maritime, and aviation - must all be converted to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions targets by 2050. The plan clearly identifies eleven key projects in the development of green transport infrastructure, with total funds of more than VND3 quadrillion ($128.3 billion).
