A survey by the State Bank of Vietnam shows that borrowing demand from corporate customers overtook that of retail customers, signaling a shift in capital flows toward business expansion and investment activities.

Risk management criteria, particularly the requirements for "collateral" and "minimum credit rating," are expected to be slightly tightened.

Covid-19 has had an impact on bank loans, with a number of regulations from the State Bank of Vietnam relating to debt structure no longer being appropriate. Banks have therefore made a number of proposals and recommendations to address the problems they face.
