During their talks, General Secretary and President To Lam of Vietnam and Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen agreed on the need to capitalize on new opportunities and leverage the strengths of each country to generate new momentum for bilateral cooperation, thereby making practical contributions to the development goals of each nation.

Addressing the forum, the top Vietnamese leader stressed that Vietnam seeks not only investment capital but also advanced technologies, expertise, modern management practices, research and development (R&D), high-quality human resources and stronger links between foreign investors and domestic businesses.

The top Vietnamese leader’s visit to Denmark is expected to strengthen political trust, set long-term cooperation priorities and further deepen bilateral relations. It also offers an opportunity to promote economic, trade and investment ties, as well as cooperation in science-technology and innovation, in line with the development priorities and needs of both countries.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin agreed to study the establishment of new cooperation mechanisms and specialised working groups in various fields, and pledged to encourage businesses from both countries to expand their operations in each other’s markets.

The ceremony was conducted in accordance with protocol for foreign heads of state visiting New Zealand, incorporating a traditional Māori welcome ceremony and an official greeting.

At their talks in Canberra on August 11, the two leaders set a target of $20 billion in two-way trade and called for stronger supply chain links, quality investment, and closer cooperation in the green and digital economies, new energy, and future industries.

The visits by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam to the two Oceania countries will take place from August 9 – 14.

The visit is expected to mark a new milestone in bilateral relations, opening up opportunities for breakthroughs in economic, trade, and investment cooperation, and contributing to effectively responding to rapid changes in the global political and economic landscape.

During their talks in Beijing on April 15, the two leaders affirmed that the two Parties and countries should further strengthen solidarity, enhance strategic trust, and promote policy connectivity, trade, infrastructure, and energy.

Building on the foundation of friendship carefully nurtured by previous generations of leaders of the two countries, on the high-level common perceptions that have been established, on the determination of agencies, sectors and localities, and on the support of the people of both countries, Vietnam–China relations will certainly continue to develop in a stable, healthy and long-term sustainable manner, bringing more tangible benefits to the two Parties, States and peoples, and making increasingly positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

This is the first State visit made by a top leader of Vietnam to Ireland since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1996.

This is Mr. Lam’s first visit to Cuba in his capacity as the top leader of the Party and State of Vietnam.  

The visit, made at State President To Lam’s invitation, will take place between July 31 – August 3.

The two-day visit will deepen the relations between the two neighbors.
