Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports continued to post strong growth in the first half of 2026, generating a trade surplus of more than $2 billion, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Export turnover was estimated at $882.4 million in June, bringing total exports for the first six months of the year to $3.65 billion, up 17.7% from the same period in 2025.
Imports also increased, with June import value estimated at $277.5 million. As a result, total fruit and vegetable imports reached $1.57 billion in the first half, a year-on-year increase of 30.9%.
China remained Vietnam's largest export market, accounting for 51.2% of its total fruit and vegetable export value in the period. Exports to China rose 27.9% from a year earlier. The US and South Korea ranked second and third, representing market shares of 8.4% and 5.1%, respectively, with exports to the two markets increasing 12.2% and 8.4%.
